How Walmart Money Card Works
The Walmart MoneyCard simply works like any prepaid debit card. You can use it to pay for any product purchase or service you availed of as long as the establishment accepts Visa debit cards. This means that you can use the MoneyCard in practically all grocery and department stores, airlines, car rentals, hotels, and gas stations.
Walmart MoneyCard Advantages
There are many advantages of using the MoneyCard. It’s safer as you don’t need to bring cash all the time. You won’t have to worry about cash being stolen because in case you lose the MoneyCard, you simply inform Walmart and they’ll cancel the card meaning anyone who gets it won’t be able to use it.
For most parents, the Walmart MoneyCard can help them in teaching their kids how to be responsible with their money. It is now normal for many parents to give their teenage children a Walmart MoneyCard instead of cash.
You can also get a lot of rewards if you frequently use the MoneyCard. For instance, you can get cash back every time you use the card for paying for gas.
You can also keep track of your money as you will be alerted by email or via text about your balance. MoneyCard also alerts you whenever your balance is below $25, so you can reload your debit card immediately and not risk getting caught with insufficient balance.
How to Load a Walmart Money Card
There are several ways for you to load a Walmart MoneyCard. First is by swiping the prepaid card at any register found in participating Walmart locations. The minimum load amount is $20, and the maximum is $1,100. The reload fee of $3 applies as well.
You can also load the prepaid card by first cashing your check at any Walmart location. But the maximum amount that you can load through check is $3,000.
Another way of adding up to the load of your MoneyCard is to find a MoneyCenter express that is usually placed in front of a participating Walmart store. The said express station can be mistaken for an ATM, but it does more than dispense money. It can also be used for reloading MoneyCard, purchasing money orders and more.
